I’ve registered for a CleanEdison course – what’s next?
After you order a CleanEdison course from our website, you should receive three emails: a purchase order and confirmation, a welcome email with access to pre-course materials and an email with instructions on how to login to your practice exams. If you have not received these emails within a few minutes of your order being placed, it was probably marked as spam or blocked by your firewall. You can still access your practice exams by going to study.cleanedison.com and following the directions for first-time users without passwords.
Is there anything I need to do before attending the course?
You will want to familiarize yourself with your pre-course materials and take at least one practice exam before you attend the course to make the experience more valuable and productive. Although we do not feel it is necessary to purchase the LEED reference guides (available on the USGBC website—www.usgbc.org ), they serve as excellent reference manual when working on LEED projects.
Can I register for the exam on your site?
Unfortunately, we only provide the prep courses. You will need to apply for the exam at the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) website (www.gbci.org). For the LEED Green Associate exam, there is a $50 application fee and a $150 exam fee for USGBC members, or $200 for non-members. The LEED AP Specialty exams calls for a $100 application fee, and a $300 exam fee for USGBC members. The exam is $450 for non-members. You then will schedule your exam at prometric.com/gbci. They have exam locations throughout the country. You’ll be able to select a day and time that works for your schedule.
How long do you recommend I study—after the course—before taking the exam?
There is no hard-and-fast rule, but we recommend taking the test two to three weeks after taking our course. While our materials are very comprehensive, there are a lot of topics to cover, so you’ll want to take some time to study, review, and take the practice exams.
What if I fail the exam?
An exam application is valid for one year and GBCI allows you up to three exam registrations/attempts during that year. If you don't pass the LEED exam after taking our course, give us a call and you can take the next CleanEdison LEED course, free of charge. Please keep in mind that our prep course is meant to supplement your preparation and is not in lieu of self-studying.
What is your cancellation policy?
Should you need to cancel your registration in this program, we will be happy to process a full refund of the registration fee provided we receive notice two weeks in advance of the course. Cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the course start date, will receive a refund minus a $50 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received within 3 business days of the course start date or for those who fail to attend the course.
Should you be unable to attend the program, you may substitute another individual or transfer your registration to a future offering of this course, provided space is available. If your request to transfer is received within 3 business days of the course start date, there will be a late transfer charge of $50.
Do you offer private tutoring?
CleanEdison can provide you a personal level of instruction that is designed to meet your individual learning needs. If you learn best in a one-on-one atmosphere, our CleanEdison private tutoring sessions offer personalized LEED exam prep with a competent LEED instructor. Your tutor will take you through a learning plan that is tailored to meet your needs. LEED tutoring is available in 5-, 10-,15-, 25- and 35-hour packages. You can purchase extra hours beyond the 35-hour package separately. Please call our office at 888-51-EDISON (888-513-3476) to inquire about our private tutoring services. Please know the exact exam or field of study you are interested in before you call. Please note that private tutoring is not available in all geographies.
