IECC 2012

Course Details

why take this course:

Construction codes are changing, the IECC 2012 Code has already been adopted by some states and more are expected to adopt the code too. Each revision of the International codes call for great energy performance, and the 2012 revision in no exception. The IECC 2012 code requires more insulation, a tighter envelope, tighter ducts, better windows, and more efficient lighting than IECC 2009. Every new home will need to be tested with a blower door, and builders will need to come up with strategies to stop thermal losses.

This course is ideal for energy auditors, insulation professionals, architects, engineers, builders, electricians and plumbers in states that are implementing IECC 2012.

What you'll learn:

CleanEdison's 8 hour online IECC Code Training goes over the important changes for residential buildings in the 2012 International codes. This new code requires knowledge of high-efficacy lighting, duct tightness, blower-door testing, mechanical ventilation systems, solar heat gain coefficients, and insulation. The course also goes over the interplay between 2012 IECC adoption, the ASHRAE 90.1 Standard and the International Green Construction Code.
