Each revision of the International codes call for great energy performance, and the 2012 revision in no exception. The IECC 2012 code requires more insulation, a tighter envelope, tighter ducts, better windows, and more efficient lighting than IECC 2009. Every new home will need to be tested with a blower door, and builders will need to come up with strategies to stop thermal losses.
