What is included in the CleanEdison BPI – Building Analyst Training Course?

Course costs include classroom training (1 full day + 2 half-days), field training (2 half-days), course materials, study materials, BPI application fees, written exam fee and field exam fee.

How is the course structured? What is the course schedule?

Day 1 is a full day of classroom training from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Days 2 and 3 consists of classroom training from 9:00 am to noon and field training from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Day 4 begins with a review of the course materials from 8:00 am to 10:00 am. From 10:00 am to noon, all students take the written exam. Field exams time slot are available on the afternoon of Day 4 and throughout the day on Day 5.

When will I schedule my Field Exam?

After you register for our CleanEdison Energy Audit Training course, we will contact you about scheduling a field exam. The field exam is a two-hour one-on-one exam proctored by the instructor on day 4 or 5 of the course and is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you need a certain timeslot for scheduling purposes, we will do our best to accommodate. Please do not book any travel arrangements until your field exam time slot has been confirmed. Should you need cancel or change your field test time slot, we will make reasonable attempts to accommodate you but we make no guarantee nor will provide compensation in the event that we cannot accommodate you.

Are there tools involved in the training? If so, will I need to purchase my own tools?

During the course, we will demonstrate and train you to use the following tools involved in Building Analyst certification: automatic blower doors, static pressure test kits, combustion analyzers, moisture meters, IR thermometers, and gas leak detectors. You can purchase your own set of tools from Aiken Colon (www.aikencolon.com) or Trutech Tools (www.trutechtools.com).

Do you offer other BPI certifications?

Yes, but keep in mind that while you can achieve the certifications in any order, it is highly recommended that you obtain the Building Analyst certification before you achieve any of the other BPI certifications (BPI Envelope-Shell Professional, BPI Heating Specialist, and BPI Multifamily Building Analyst).

What if I do not pass the exam?

If after taking our course you do not pass either the written or field exam, you can take the next CleanEdison Energy Audit Training course free of charge. You will be responsible, however, for the exam fee: $125 for the written exam and $450 for the field exam.

What is your cancellation policy?

Should you need to cancel your registration in this program, we will be happy to process a full refund of the registration fee provided we receive notice two weeks in advance of the course. Cancellations received less than two weeks prior to the course start date, will receive a refund minus a $200 cancellation fee. No refunds will be made for cancellations received within 3 business days of the course start date or for those who fail to attend the course. Field tests are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Should you need cancel or change your field test time slot, we will make reasonable attempts to accommodate you but we make no guarantee nor will provide compensation in the event that we cannot accommodate you.

Should you be unable to attend the program, you may substitute another individual or transfer your registration to a future offering of this course, provided space is available. If your request to transfer is received within 3 business days of the course start date, there will be a late transfer charge of $50.
