ASHRAE Standard 189.1
Standard 189.1 is a rigorous standard written in model code that provides minimum requirements for high-performance green buildings. By establishing mandatory criteria in all topic areas of green building, and by providing a compliance path to the International Green Construction Code (IgCC), ASHRAE 189.1 is quickly becoming the blueprint for sustainable building and design.
This online anytime seminar explains the role ASHRAE 189.1 plays in creating mandatory minimum requirements, and the way it interacts with building codes and ratings systems such as LEED. It covers extensively the six topic areas of 189.1:
Site Sustainability
Water Use Efficiency
Energy Efficiency
Indoor Environmental Quality
Building’s Impact on the Atmosphere, Materials, and Resources
Construction and Plans for Operation
For each of these topic areas, this course will also give an explanation of both the simple “prescriptive” compliance option, and the more complex “performance” compliance option.
