What is Solar PV?
Solar Photo-Voltaic is a solar technology which uses solar cells, the components of a solar panel, to convert sunlight into usable electricity. The solar cells absorb photons from the sun's rays releasing electrons, which can travel into the electric grid powering homes, businesses and industrial spaces. Solar PV systems, due to their renewable energy source and their limited impact on the environment, allow us to produce large amounts of electricity sustainably.
Solar PV Training
Solar PV Training is a 5 - day, 40- hour course accredited by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and will provide you with the necessary qualifications to take and pass the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) PV Installer certification exam.
Practically speaking, you will learn how to install a Solar PV system, through both classroom lectures and a hands-on laboratory, while learning the Solar PV system design, and appropriate safety procedures for solar system installation and repair. Solar PV training will give you access to new job opportunities, while providing you with the knowledge to educate consumers and effectively market your business' solar services.
If you are just introducing yourself to the solar industry and practices, CleanEdison's Solar 101webinar review the basics of both Solar PV and Solar Thermal systems, allowing you to move forward with further certification-based training.
Other Solar Training
In addition to a Solar PV Course, CleanEdison also offers Solar Thermal as well as Solar 101, an introductory solar course. Solar Thermal Boot Camp is similar to the Solar PV course, in that it teaches students installation techniques while providing them with a thorough understanding of the necessary equipment and necessary safety precautions. Solar Thermal Sales will provide students with additional knowledge to appropriately and effectively market their Solar Thermal Installation services, while providing them with 16 hours of NABCEP continuing education credits.
